ACCREDITATION

We are also proud to announce that our firm is one of the first legal practices in Western Sydney to obtain accreditation to the Management System benchmark for legal practice recently developed by SAI Global on behalf of Standards Australia, in conjunction with QL Inc, the Law Society of New South Wales and the College of Law, LAW 9000 – Legal Best Practice, which is based on the internationally recognised standard ISO 9001.

This allows us to display the internationally recognised red five-tick Standards Mark. We achieved our accreditation in June 2005 and are audited each year by a member of SAI Global.

 

 

Our History

The Founder of our firm, Mr. David Sydney Pye was the first Solicitor to open a Law office in Blacktown in 1923. Today, the firm continues to provide legal services to the community of Greater Western Sydney. Ken Fairfax and Sheralee Wade are the current directors of the firm. Ken Fairfax, has been associated with the firm for over 30 years and Sheralee Wade has been with the firm since 2003. We are excited to have been part of the Norwest Business Community since 2005.

 

Kenneth Fairfax

After completing his Higher School Certificate at Trinity Grammar School, Ken completed his Commerce and Law Degrees at The University of New South Wales. Ken holds Law Society Specialist Accreditation in the areas of Business Law; and Wills and Estates.

Ken is a Notary Public and has been a Notary Public since 2006.
Ken commenced his Legal Career at Glen Innes in 1980 and then moved to Mudgee before joining our firm in 1984, becoming a partner shortly after.

Ken's areas of expertise within the practice are corporate & Business Law, Conveyancing & Commercial matters, Will and Estates including disputes over deceased estates. Ken is a member of Blacktown City Rotary Club and member of the School Council of Arndell Anglican College. Ken is an avid supporter of the Australian Rugby Union team.

Sheralee Wade

Sheralee was born in Newcastle, and lived most of her early life in Queensland. After finishing Secondary School she lived in New York for a year, working as an Au Pair. Sheralee obtained her Law Degree from University of Western Sydney.

Sheralee holds Law Society Specialist Accreditation in the area of Family Law.

Sheralee works primarily in the fields of Family Law and De Facto Relationship property and children matters. Sheralee is a member of the Legal Aid Family Law Panel and has an extensive court practice at the Parramatta Family Courts, as well as in the area of General Litigation and Criminal Law.

Sheralee is currently the firm's Best Practice Co-ordinator and has been since 2005. Sheralee in this role is responsible for ensuring the firms compliance each year with quality accreditation for LAW 9000 which is the International ISO Standard 9001:2008 with Best Practice Principles which we have had since 2005.

Sheralee also lectures at the Western Sydney University and has done so since 2003. Sheralee has lectured on various subjects ranging from Alternative Dispute Resolution, Introduction to Business Law, Electronic Financial Transactions Law and Information Systems Ethics and Law.

Nicole Tabone

Nicole joined our firm in July 2012. Nicole has been in practice as a solicitor since October 2012 and practices in a variety of areas including family law, conveyancing, business law, and wills & estates. Prior to being admitted Nicole had extensive experience in other areas having previously worked at Department of Community Services, Hudson Global Resources and Coffey Environments.

Together with her law degree Nicole also has completed a bachelor of Social Science (Politics & Public Policy) in 2006 at University of Western Sydney.

Nicole is a member of the Legal Aid Family Law Panel and hopes to become accredited as an Independent Children's Lawyer in the future.

Deidre Bickerstaff

Deidre has worked with both CBD and Suburban Legal Firms for over 30 years. Deidre has been with our firm since 1994 and is currently our Firm's Conveyancing Paralegal. Her conveyancing experience includes rural, residential, commercial and industrial matters.

Deidre is also experienced in wills and estate matters. Deidre is involved with Dog Agility in her spare time.

Angelika May

Angelika has been with our firm since 1984 and has continued to evolve in all areas of practice. Angelika is our bookkeeper and is also is heavily involved in the firms Law 9000 Quality Management System. Angelika is a Justice of the Peace.

Prior to Angelika's current position as bookkeeper she was a paralegal and has had extensive experience in a number of areas of Law such as District, Local and Supreme Court proceedings, personal injury, employment related law and conveyancing.

Angelika is a scuba diving enthusiast and is fluent in the German language.

Sharyn Duncan

Sharyn has over 20 years experience working in all fields of the law. Sharyn is part of the Family Law, litigation and conveyancing team. Sharyn has been with our firm since 2003.

Sharyn is a Justice of the Peace.

Michelle Thornley

Michelle joined our team in 2012 when our firm took over the practice of Mackintosh's solicitors. Michelle had been with Mackintosh's since 2007. Michelle is our receptionist and has gathered extensive experience in the areas of conveyancing and book-keeping.

Michelle volunteers at the Animal Welfare League NSW at Kemps Creek.

Colleen Riley

Colleen is a licensed Conveyancer. Colleen joined our team in 2012 when our firm took over the practice of Mackintosh's solicitors. Colleen had been with Mackintosh's since 2011. Colleen has been a licensed Conveyancer since 2004 and has worked with various legal firms.

Colleen is also a Justice of the Peace and a member of Institute of Conveyancers NSW Division.
